Northern Region Football is New Zealand's largest football Federation, encompassing the Far North, Northland, and Auckland. 


Together with our 72 member Clubs, we provide competitions and opportunities to over 37,800 registered players and thousands of coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers. We run over 16,000 games a season.


We support football/futsal from community levels through to the LOTTO Northern Regional Premier League, which also includes teams from the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Area Manager - Whangārei | Kaipara

We are looking for someone passionate about grass roots football to support the growth and capability of football clubs to deliver high quality experiences to their membership and local community groups. 

  • Tertiary qualification in sport management or related area of study is preferred.
  • Experience of working In grass roots football or community sport’s environments. 
  • Experience strategic planning and operational execution. 
  • Working knowledge of the Whole of Football Plan and the football landscape in Auckland and Northland.
  • Experience of developing networks and working with a range of stakeholders.

The purpose of this role is to initiate, develop and manage successful and productive relationships between NRF and stakeholders at a regional and local level to contribute to the achievement of NRF’s strategic outcomes.  As the key link between NRF and member clubs as well as local facility providers, including Council and Local Boards. 

Community Junior & Youth Development Lead

We are looking for someone passionate about grass roots football to support the growth and capability of football clubs to deliver high quality experiences to their membership and local community groups. 

As a member of the Football Department, play an active part in the delivery of the Whole of Football Plan, NRF’s strategic plan linked to ‘thriving clubs’ and the Football in New Zealand strategy.

Support the wider football development team to develop strategies and programs to ensure the effective delivery of coach, referee, girls and women’s football and futsal across the wider football community.

The purpose of this role is to provide support and leadership to NRF’s member clubs and development team. This role will focus on the implementation and best practice delivery of junior and youth development frameworks aligned to NZ Footballs community programming.


Competitions - Team support

We are looking for someone passionate about grass roots football, to support NRF’s competitions team through the development of systems, processes, and documentation to maximise efficiency and communication with our member clubs.

The purpose of this role is to support the management, development and operations of all Senior & Youth Community Football & Futsal Leagues, Competitions & Tournaments.  Responsible for developing processes and procedures, coordinating entries, draws, fixtures and ensuring excellent communication is maintained with participating organisations.  


Club and community - Programmes manager Whangārei 

Responsible for the efficient administration support of competitions and programme delivery in Northland as well as the hands on growth of girls and women’s programmes in Northland.
