Head of Competitions and Events 

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join the Northern Region Football SLT as Head of Competitions & Events.

This pivotal role holds end-to-end accountability for the design, governance, and delivery of football and futsal competitions, events, festivals, and the match official system across the region. You will lead long-term competition planning, ensure regulatory alignment with New Zealand Football, oversee disciplinary and integrity frameworks, and provide strategic stewardship of referee development and appointment systems.

As the SLT lead for health, safety, and wellbeing across all competitions and match official environments, you will ensure high-quality, safe, and sustainable delivery models that enhance participant experience and support the long-term growth of the game. 

This is a senior systems leadership role requiring strong strategic capability, stakeholder management expertise, and proven experience leading complex operational environments within sport or comparable sectors.​​​​​​​
