Another champion was crowned this weekend as leagues come to their conclusions. 

Here's what you need to know from an action-packed weekend of football.

Results this weekend saw Fencibles United claim the LOTTO NRFL Women's Championship!

Onehunga Sports failed to gain any points as they faced Tauranga City, while Fencibles United's 3-0 victory over Franklin United saw them go uncatchable at the top of the table.

Metro and Birkenhead United both claimed victorious this weekend heading into the last rounds of the competition. Their face-off next week may just decide the competition. If Birkenhead win they become uncatchable at the top of the table and will be crowned champions.

The LOTTO NRFL Men's Championship will be decided on the final weekend of the competition between East Coast Bays and Tauranga City. 

East Coast Bays just got past Mt Albert Ponsonby this weekend through Liam Andersen's 65th-minute effort. 

Tauranga City achieved victory over Onehunga Mangere United, helped by four goals from Jonty Bidois (10', 17', 31', 61').

Next weekend Tauranga City faces Mt Albert Ponsonby, a victory for Tauranga would mean they are crowned champions. East Coast Bays need a win and hope Tauranga City fail to gain all three points. A win for East Coast Bays and a draw in Tauranga's match would mean goal difference would decide the league.

Franklin United and Bucklands Beach played in the last game of LOTTO NRFL Men's Northern Conference for 2023. All though Frankin United claimed the title last weekend, they still had the task of going undrafted for the whole season. Buckland Beach would have been aiming for victory to say they had been victorious over the champions. 

Felipe Rosas Gallardo's 9th-minute effort was enough for Franklin to claim all three points and end the season undefeated.

Joshua Clarkin's double (34', 82') helped Cambridge overcome Ngongotaha Lakes this weekend in their last game of the season.  Waikato Unicol easily gained all three points from their match against Papamoa. 

The LOTTO NRFL Men's Southern Conference will crown its champion next weekend, as Waikato Unicol play their last game of the season facing Otumoetai who are coming off a 7-0 victory against Taupo. Waikato Unicol needs a victory to be crowned champions, something they have achieved both times they have faced Otumoetai this season.

The Northern League finished this season, with Auckland City claiming the title in fashion with a 6-1 victory over Manukau United. Both Auckland City and Eastern Suburbs finish the season undefeated with only four points between them.
