Complete Sporty registration data

Making sure all your registrations are reflected in Sporty, the national registration system, by the 28 August deadline is crucial because it means NRF can:

  • Advocate more effectively with Councils for fair field allocations and to protect club access to facilities.
  • Demonstrate the true scale and growth of our game, strengthening our case for investment and support.
  • Determines clubs voting rights and comply with NZ Football’s mandatory registration requirements.
  • Prepare clubs for anticipated changes to Member Regulations, where full registration may become a condition of affiliation.

We ask clubs to ensure that every participant is included in the system — from First Kicks, Fun Football, and Fantails through to youth and senior players. The more complete the data, the better positioned we are to advocate for resources, facilities, and opportunities that benefit all levels of the game.

Friendly Manager troubleshooting

Why might player registrations not have been sent to Sporty?

The NZF field has not been enabled for the team/group

The group/team can easily be enabled by selecting either NZF registration or Fantails registration. This will send all players within the group/team to Sporty.

Where you see a bulk number of registrations missing in an age group, this is the likely scenario - ie the whole team has not been sent.

This is also clear from the groups/team’s summary screen.

A player cannot be sent to Sporty if required information is missing

This generally occurs when the player record has been entered manually by a club administrator, as the online registration forms already require these fields to be completed.

Clubs can access a report showing players who have not been sent due to errors. If only one or two players are missing across different age groups, this is the most likely cause. Once the missing information is added, the record can be successfully sent to Sporty.

You have groups in your Friendly Manager account not relevant to NZ football

For example, a club may be helping their local coach make money by running a mum’s cross fit session on a Tuesday morning and taking registrations through Friendly Manager. This group will not be NZF enabled and the data does not need to flow to NZF but will be included in the non-registered members report attached.

Thank you for your assistance in ensuring our registration data is complete and accurate. This work is important in helping NRF and NZ Football advocate for the facilities, funding, and opportunities that support football across our region.
