Albany United has joined the continuing growing NRF Clubs to gain the Xero Together Stronger Club Accreditation. They shared the reason for doing so
“At Albany United FC, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen the foundations of our club, both on and off the pitch. The Xero Together Stronger accreditation aligned perfectly with our vision of being a well-run, community-focused club that’s sustainable for the long term. We saw it as an opportunity to benchmark where we are, identify areas to improve, and give our members confidence that we’re operating with strong governance and accountability. The journey was insightful and rewarding; it gave us a chance to reflect on what we’re doing well and where we can continue to grow.”
A major part of Albany gaining the accreditation was the easy process to follow. They shared that the online resources and templates provided by Xero made it easy to understand what was required at each stage. Alongside the support from Northern Region Football played a big role in guiding them through the process and ensuring they had everything in place.
Albany United sees the biggest long-term impact being improved trust, transparency, and confidence among it’s members, partners, and community. The accreditation has helped set a professional standard that future committees and leaders can build on, helping ensure the club remains financially sustainable and well-managed for years to come.
Going forward, this will directly support Albany United's strategic focus on good governance, accountability, and financial health.
Albany was asked if other clubs should aim to get the Xero Together Stronger Club Accreditation.
“Absolutely! It’s a great initiative that helps clubs become stronger and more resilient. The process might seem daunting at first, but it’s very achievable and incredibly worthwhile. It not only improves how you operate but also gives your members and community confidence in the way the club is being managed.”
We’re proud to be part of the Xero Together Stronger programme and to stand alongside other clubs committed to doing things the right way. It’s a fantastic initiative that’s helping raise the standard of club management across the country, something that ultimately benefits the entire football community.
