Papakura City joins Auckland City at the Youth Futsal Championships in 2025

Northern Region Football is once again excited to be partnering with Auckland City FC to send teams to the New Zealand Football Youth Futsal Championships and welcoming Women's Futsal Superleague partners Papakura City to the competition for the first time.

Auckland City currently delivers, in partnership with NRF, a Men’s Ford Futsal Super League squad and continues to be a leader in the futsal space. Auckland City enjoyed great success at last year’s Youth Futsal Championships, claiming both the U15 Boys and U19 Girls national titles.

Joining them this year and making their debut at the competition is Papakura City FC, fielding a U15 Boys team. The club will use the experience as a valuable learning year, with an eye on future growth and continued development.

This builds on Papakura City FC already playing an important role in the futsal landscape, delivering a Women’s Ford Futsal Super League team in partnership with NRF.

The New Zealand Football Youth Futsal Championships will be held at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre in Wellington from 15–18 December, bringing together the top youth futsal talent from across the country.

“It’s great to see both Auckland City and Papakura City representing our region. The Youth Championships are an important part of the pathway and a celebration of the growth of futsal in Aotearoa,"  said Aidan Wong, Futsal & Alternative Formats Lead from NRF.
