South Auckland Rangers FC Celebrates Xero ‘Together Stronger’ Accreditation Milestone

South Auckland Rangers FC is celebrating a major milestone after achieving accreditation through the Xero ‘Together Stronger’ Club Support Program — a significant step forward for the club’s governance, sustainability, and long-term growth.

The achievement reflects the dedicated work behind the scenes by Vice President Ravindra Chandra, with the club taking time to strengthen the systems that support its players, volunteers, and wider community. With membership increasing and expectations continuing to grow, South Auckland Rangers saw the accreditation as the perfect opportunity to ensure the club remains well-run, transparent, and built for the future.

For South Auckland Rangers FC, the decision to pursue the accreditation was driven by a clear purpose: to improve how the club operates and to create the best possible environment for everyone involved.

“As a rapidly growing club with increasing membership and community expectations, we recognised the importance of having strong governance, clear financial processes, and sustainable systems in place,” the club shared. “The accreditation aligned perfectly with our long-term vision of being a well-run, community-focused club that people can trust and feel proud to belong to.”

The journey proved rewarding, as the club took a deep look at its internal structures and day-to-day operations. Financial management was reviewed, governance frameworks were strengthened, and key processes were formalised — reducing reliance on informal knowledge and ensuring consistency across all areas of the club.

South Auckland Rangers FC credited the program’s practical and structured approach as a key factor in making the accreditation manageable for their team. “The accreditation framework broke everything down into practical steps,” the club said. “The checklists, templates, and guidance documents gave us a solid starting point and helped us stay organised throughout the process.”

With access to best-practice examples and easy-to-follow resources, the club was able to confidently align its policies and procedures with accreditation standards.

The club believes the biggest long-term impact of the Xero ‘Together Stronger’ Club Support Program accreditation is the stability and confidence it brings moving forward. By strengthening governance and financial systems now, South Auckland Rangers FC is positioning itself for responsible and sustainable growth into the future.

“By strengthening our governance, financial systems, and operational processes, the accreditation sets us up for sustainable growth and long-term success,” the club said. “It ensures that as our membership continues to expand, we have the structure, transparency, and accountability needed to support that growth responsibly.”
The accreditation also boosts the club’s credibility with funders, partners, and the wider community — opening the door to stronger partnerships, increased volunteer support, and improved access to funding opportunities.

“It’s worth it” — is a message to other clubs for those considering the Program. “The program will give insight into how things are done and how it can be improved.”

With accreditation achieved, the focus now turns to continued development on the field and enhancing female participation for players and those involved in leadership roles. South Auckland Rangers FC plans to grow its cluster program and further strengthen opportunities for juniors and youth players. Importantly, the club is also taking steps to support children who may otherwise miss out due to financial barriers. SAR has confirmed it will allocate funds to help children and parents who cannot afford fees and uniforms — ensuring more tamariki and rangatahi can take part in football and feel included.

As the new season approaches, the club says it feels organised, motivated, and ready — with the accreditation giving an added boost of confidence.

“Overall, we feel well prepared, organised, and excited,” the club shared. “The accreditation has not only validated the work we’ve already done but has also motivated us to continue improving.”

“We are grateful for the support, guidance, and tools provided throughout the process,” the club said. “We look forward to continuing to build a strong, sustainable, and community-focused club for our tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau.”

South Auckland Rangers FC’s achievement through the Xero Together Stronger Club Support Program is a proud milestone — and a signal that the club’s future is built on strong foundations, shared values, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
